Homemade Breakfast Granola

Homemade granola with seeds and nuts.

  • 12 cups large flake oats (1kg)
  • ½ cup ground flaxseed
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup oil - melted coconut, avocado
  • ¾ cup maple syrup or honey
  • ½ cup sesame seeds
  • 2 cups mix of slivered almonds, pepitas, sunflower seeds or walnuts
  • 2 cups dried cranberries


  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Mix oats, ground flax and cinnamon with oil and maple syrup or honey. Bake for 15 minutes
  • Add nuts and seeds.
  • Continue baking, stirring every 15 minutes until it is toasted to the level of doneness you like. I find this typically takes 45 minutes.
  • Once cooled add cranberries and store in airtight containers.
